The result of research points out that experiment class implementing Learning Cycle 5E model more has been increasing than control class implementing conventional learning. The multiple choice is used to examine the concept comprehension and the essay test is used to examine critical thinking ability of student.
The instrument is test, namely multiple choice and essay. The subject of research is the students class IV SDN Rahayu 5 Margaasih Bandung regency as the experiment class and class IV SDN Rahayu 4 as the control class. Researcher uses the quasi experiment method. Learning cycle 5E model implemented to see the influence of student’s concept comprehension and critical thinking ability. To answer that problem, the researcher conducts the research by implementing learning model, namely Learning cycle 5E. Social studies learning is very important for developing the active unable students, don’t have the question skill, don’t understand the content of material, and they rather able to correlate between what they have learned with their knowledge and the implementation.
Social Studies is one of subject at elementary school that has to be mastered by students. 3) based on the school level (high, medium, and low) there is difference in students’ mathematical disposition. 2) based on the school level (high, medium, and low) there is difference in the students’ mathematical critical thinki ng ability through problem posing approach. The instrument of essay test is used to measure students’ critical and mathematical creative thinking ability while non-test instrument is questionnaire of attitude scale. Then from this chosen college is taken two samples from random class. The population of this study is all the students of mathematics education department in Cimahi while the sample is selected randomly from one college. The method used in this research is the experimental method, with only posttest design. The purpose of this study was to examine differences in new students’ mathematical disposition, critical & creative thinking ability through the mathematical problem posing approach based on school level (high, medium, low). Here the writer wants to see how much influence of the school level on new students’ critical thinking skills and creative mathematical. The background of this study is the school of the new students of mathematics education courses came from grade high, medium and low. These activities include: formulating problems, develop hypotheses, collect data, test the hypotheses, and draw conclusions. Character reflected in the student activities for applying the guided inquiry model. Characters that grow among others: honesty, discipline, responsibility, caring, polite, cooperative, and independent. The results showed that there is influence of guided inquiry model to the critical thinking ability to build the character of students in the subjects of geography with significant value 0.00. This research using quasi- experiment with two classes (experiment class and control class), after that data is tested using independent sample t-test. The purpose of this paper discusses the effect of guided inquiry model to the critical thinking ability to build the students character in geography matter. Guided inquiry learning model can improve critical thinking and growing the students character through activities in a syntax’s. Teachers can build students character with using of learning models that includes character activities and critical thinking. Characters that should be imparted to students in Indonesia contained in the standard of competence in 2013 curriculum. One-on-one test’s results show that e-book is very easy to operate with score 3,68 and has very good readability with score 3,60.Ībstract - Character is an important thing to consider in education. The e-book has been validated in content and design with results “very appropriate” in quality and “proper to use” as the recommendation for students in learning energy resource topic with scientific approach to foster critical thinking ability. Developed e-book contains pictures, animations, simulations, learning video, essay question, and interactive test. The implementation of procedures adopted from Sugiyono’s design which consisted of 7 adjusted steps that were potency and problem assessment, data collecting, developing preliminary form of product, expert validation, design revision, one-on-one test, and product revision. The method used is research and development.
Abstract: This research aimed to develop a valid interactive e-book using Learning Content Development System (LCDS) with scientific approach on energy resources to enhance student’s critical thinking ability, to know readability and the ease of operating the developed e- book.
